Extrusion Setter Operator

We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and safety-conscious individual to make a great addition to our team as an Extrusion Setter Operator and join us on our continued growth journey. This role is based at our Castleham site in Hastings, working 45 hours over 5 days per week, on a weekly rotational shift pattern, covering the hours of 6am-3pm, 2pm-11pm and 10pm – 7am.

What are the main duties of this role?

  • To set-up, maintain safe operation and shut-down of tooling and processing equipment associated with the Company’s Extrusion
  • Ensure that output is delivered within the targeted cost, quality and time requirements, reporting any variations or deviations to targets / performance criteria
  • Able to deliver a high level of accuracy in both manual and clerical demands for this role, especially with the application and transfer of technical specification data from drawings
  • Ability to process recycled materials and operate equipment used for development and production of recycled material through use of compounding process and associated equipment
  • Set up and run all automated equipment associated to each production line, cell or task
  • Maintain accurate records and update systems as required
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve and deliver to business aims and objectives

 

What we are looking for:

  • Practical problem-solving attitude and ability.
  • 5 years’ experience in extrusion (preferably PVC)
  • NVQ or similar in pipe and profile extrusion
  • Experience of setting, operating and troubleshooting a wide range of production tooling within an Extrusion Environment
  • Production Schedule Management Skills / Ability to work to and improve agreed quality management procedures
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A reliable and conscientious individual
