Marshall-Tufflex and Core Distribution
We have worked with Irish distributor Core Distribution for over 40 years, during which time they have become the go-to supplier for cable management and power distribution systems throughout Ireland.
We first started our relationship in the mid 1970’s when one of our then Director’s John Dunne granted BKC Electrical the sole distribution rights in Ireland for the Marshall-Tufflex product range. In 1981 the directors of BKC decided to form Core Distribution to ensure that the Marshall-Tufflex brand got the focus that it needed and deserved.
With the support of the local wholesalers, Marshall-Tufflex is the leading brand of PVC-U and aluminium cable management systems in Ireland.
Where did the name ‘Core’ come from?
The name Core has a dual origin. It refers to the copper core found in electrical cables. Furthermore, it relates to the original location where the company was set up and still operates today – Inchicore in Dublin.
When did Core start supplying to Northern Ireland?
In 2011, our then MD, Jim Fletcher asked Core if they thought they could replicate the success in the Republic of Ireland, in the Northern Ireland market? They took on the challenge and formed Core Electrical Distributors (NI) Ltd. With the support of the local wholesalers, Marshall-Tufflex is also now the leading supplier of PVC and aluminium cable management systems in the Northern Ireland market.
We asked Core Distribution Chairman, Tony Keeley, why he likes working with Marshall-Tufflex?
The quality of the products has always been second to none. The service levels have always been excellent, and the prices have always been good enough to allow us to compete with most of our competitors. However, I think the real reason that our partnership has been such a success, and the reason we like working with MT, is because the directors and staff at both companies have always managed to form strong personal bonds that enable us to trust each other implicitly. Many individuals have played a huge part in the success of Core Electrical because they listened to us and trusted our judgement. They have always taken a keen interest in our company, just as we have taken a keen interest in Marshall-Tufflex. We have a unique partnership that transcends the usual Manufacturer/Customer relationship because we understand what we both bring to the table.
