Our journey to Net Zero

We have officially started our journey to Net Zero! On Friday 28th July we held a launch event with our staff in Hastings, Watford and Manchester. Refreshments were enjoyed by everyone, and our Managing Director talked to the team about the journey ahead.  We also planted five trees in the garden of our head office at Castleham Industrial Estate, Hastings.

At Marshall-Tufflex, we are committed to sustainability and believe it is our responsibility to protect the environment and that’s why we are starting this drive to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. We know this is an ambitious goal, but we are confident that we can achieve it by working with our employees, customers, and partners.

We have already taken a number of steps to reduce our emissions, including:

– Investing in renewable energy
– Improving energy efficiency in our operations
– Reducing our reliance on single-use plastics
– Supporting sustainable transportation

The steps to achieve Net Zero are to Measure, Reduce and Offset residuals and for this, we will be looking at all Scopes 1, 2 & 3 which are a way of categorising the different kinds of carbon emissions, such as energy, gas, fuel consumption, and waste and supply chain management.

We know that we can’t achieve net zero emissions on our own. That’s why we are calling on our employees, customers, and partners to join us on this journey. Together, we can make a difference.

“As a starting point, we will plant 5 trees today. They will be the symbol of our journey to Net Zero. When the trees grow and we benefit from the shade and fresh air, we will all remember how we started this project. As individuals, we can all contribute to the Net Zero Project, each department has a mission to look around and see what can be done to reduce and achieve the project goals. By working together, we can create a more sustainable future for our planet.”
