Showcasing Sustainable Manufacturing with Planet Mark

Our Journey to Net Zero with Planet Mark

In June, we welcomed Planet Mark to our Castleham site to film a joint case study for their Net Zero Means Business campaign, highlighting our continued commitment to reducing carbon emissions and advancing towards a more sustainable future.

The visit brought together key members of our team, including Environmental and Quality Manager, Ketlyn Silva, and Procurement Manager, Gareth Townsend, to discuss how we’re working collaboratively to make measurable progress towards Net Zero.

At Marshall-Tufflex, sustainability has been at the core of our business for many years. As a market leading UK manufacturer of cable management solutions, we are committed to operating responsibly and efficiently, while continuing to deliver high-quality, innovative products for our customers.

Partnering with Planet Mark

In 2023 we partnered with Planet Mark, an organisation renowned for helping businesses measure, reduce, and communicate their carbon impact. Planet Mark’s expertise has supported us in accurately assessing our scope 1, 2, and core scope 3 emissions, setting meaningful reduction targets, and embedding sustainable practices across our business operations. Their team also provides valuable guidance on employee engagement and supplier collaboration, helping us align our goals and gear towards a shared objective of achieving Net Zero.

Embedding Sustainability Across Our Operations

We reviewed and redesigned the packaging for our moulded product ranges to improve both sustainability and efficiency. The new design is made from 100% recycled and recyclable materials, reduces operator cycle time, and delivers cost savings through a streamlined assembly process.

Addressing Scope 3 emissions requires close collaboration with suppliers. We continue to engage our supply chain through open dialogue, shared data, and aligned sustainability goals, helping our partners move forward on their own carbon reduction journeys.

Working with Planet Mark has encouraged us to have more meaningful conversations with our suppliers. It’s helping us identify opportunities to reduce emissions collectively and make sustainability a shared responsibility.

Measuring Progress and Looking Ahead

Our collaboration with Planet Mark has enhanced the quality and accuracy of our emissions reporting, providing a strong foundation for long-term improvement.

Looking ahead, we’re focused on developing a detailed Net Zero transition plan and setting science-based targets to guide our reduction strategy. Working alongside Planet Mark’s strategy consultants, we will continue to refine our approach, ensuring measurable, lasting impact.

We’ve already achieved significant progress, but this is only the beginning. Our focus now is on setting clear targets that will drive continuous improvement and help us achieve long-term reductions across every part of our business.

Our Commitment

We are proud of the progress we have made so far and recognise that achieving Net Zero is a shared and ongoing journey. Our success depends on the dedication of our staff, the collaboration of our suppliers, and the continued support of our customers, all working together to drive meaningful change. We would also like to thank Planet Mark for their partnership and guidance, helping us measure our impact, stay accountable, and keep progressing towards a more sustainable future.
