CEF LIVE 2023

Billed as the UK’s premier electrical event, CEF Live returned to the NEC Birmingham on 8th and 9th June, bigger than ever – with 8000 visitors from across the sector attending the show. As exhibitors at this key event, the team from Marshall-Tufflex were on hand to welcome electrical contractors to our busy stand over a jam-packed two days and we had the pleasure of being joined by leading electrical industry media platforms, Voltimum and eFIXX to discuss challenges, opportunities and new innovations.

It’s always great to attend exhibitions such as CEF Live that provide us with a fantastic opportunity to meet with contractors, hear their views and share ideas. With thousands of people from the industry attending this year’s CEF Live, we were provided with a valuable platform to get feedback from hundreds of end users which we will use to develop and enhance our range.

In fact, our most recent product development – our 2.4m lengths of conduit and mini trunking – was driven by customer feedback as a solution that is both ‘van friendly’ and meets most standard celling heights, thus negating the need for additional cuts, (and waste) on site. The CEF Live event was the first time that this new product was publicly showcased and it received a really positive response with many remarking on how useful and convenient this product is.

We were also able to speak to those attending the show about some other key products in our range including our underfloor to desk cable management products, our Basor range of cable tray and wire basket, as well as our antimicrobial Bio collection and PowerPoles and Posts. MT Supertube was also a particularly busy area of the stand, with many visitors keen to hear more about the properties of the conduit.

One of the highlights of the event was welcoming Darts Pro, Mark Dudbridge to our stand, who challenged visitors with a game of 301/501 for an opportunity to win a trip to the British Grand Prix. Mark certainly pulled in the crowds, with many keen to watch the Pro in action and support their colleagues and peers in taking up the challenge against him. Gary Smith, an electrical contractor from Stoke beat Mark and won the trip to the Grand Prix!

Importantly, we were able to speak to industry professionals about our manufacturing process  and how we use recycled content for our PVC-U trunking and conduit as a way to lower carbon emissions and divert waste from landfill. We know that hesitations around product quality and potentially higher product costs have meant some electricians are reluctant to make the switch to products made from recycled content, so it was good to speak with professionals and put those misconceptions to rest. You can read more about our recycling process and quality assurance here.

The show closed with the great news that our stand design and team was ‘Highly Commended’ by the team at CEF. A success all round!

“CEF Live is the must attend event of the year for the electrical community to come together, connect and learn. The show provided us with a great platform to debut our new products, as well as an opportunity to meet with and listen to our customers. We were thrilled to return to the show and appreciate all those who took the time to visit our stand – we hope they got a good perspective of our expertise in cable management, our breadth of range and our passion for supporting the industry.”
